What's the Teen Word? Hollywood Records- Friend or Foe?

DC Dude here with this week's "What's the Teen Word?" This is my first one and I hope it's as good as all the other ones that have been done on here.
We all know who Hollywood Records is. They have signed some of the biggest Disney stars over the past years. Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, Raven, Hayden Panettiere, The Cheetah Girls, Everlife, Hilary and Haylie Duff and tons more. They have gained huge succes recently through the Jo Bros, Demi, Miley and Selena. But in doing a little bit more research, I am beginning to see them in a new light.
First off, did The Scene get the boot? When Selena & the Scene's debut album was released, the Hollywood Records homepage had her picture as Selena Gomez & the Scene. But now, it only says Selena Gomez. Why? We know that it's Selena & the Scene through Radio Disney and Disney Channel, we see and hear them as Selena Gomez & the Scene. Was the change due to her success with "Naturally"? I imagine that radio's across America say Selena Gomez instead of the entire title. Yet in her music video for "Naturally", they made sure to show more of her band The Scene. So, will her new CD be Selena Gomez or will The Scene be with her?

These are three groups that have been dropped/left from Hollywood Records. The first is Raven. I bought her Sophomore album on iTunes a while ago and I love it! She is so talented and I think it was wrong for Hollywood Records to not make another contract with her. Her contract was for two albums, and it was up. Many Disney star contracts were for two albums (Raven, Vanessa, and Corbin). But I really think that they should have kept Raven. She is very talented and I think that she would have had great potential if they had her work with some of the greatest music producers of today.

Ballas Hough Band originally started in the UK as Almost Amy. Hollywood Records signed them when they moved over to LA and they put out a debut album almost a year ago. Last November, they performed a new single "Move" at Dancing With the Stars (shocker...considering two of their biggest people are in the group). There they stated that they were working on a new CD. Next thing you know, Hollywood Records dropped them because their songs weren't getting any air play on the radio. Please tell me ANY other Hollywood Records artist that has gotten MAJOR air play? Miley with "The Climb" and some with "Party in the USA" and now Selena with "Naturally". I can't think of others...can you? So why were they dropped? I have found that Hollywood Records is very smart with having someone in almost every music genre. When Raven was done, Jordan Pruitt sort of filled her spot. Ballas Hough is gone and now they have...Allstar Weekend? Allstar Weekend isn't even that good. Ballas Hough was pretty good and they were unique too. Kind of a classy 3OH!3 with some Metro Station mixed together.

Next is Aly & AJ now known as 78violet. Need I say more? Mega good...super unique...and amazing talent. But I think in this case, they left because Hollywood Records was holding them back. Which I think is unfortunate, because music is an art and it shouldn't be held back. If someone wants to sing like a sailor...go ahead! People may not listen to you, but you were able to express yourself. The sad thing is that 78violet were able to record a good portion of their CD and then they left. It must have been really bad.

So that's the Teen Word! Hope you like it! Leave comments below
