Teen Talk: Disney Channel vs. Nickelodeon

Hey guys it’s Matt and this is TE’s first ever Teen Talk where we you get to read all of the opinions from Teens on different subjects. The subject today is on Disney Channel vs. Nickelodeon. I meet up with four of my friends who were happy to be interviewed on this subject. For this subject we have David, Garrett, Becca, and Alex. We asked them questions on the subject Disney Channel vs. Nickelodeon where there has been an ongoing battle between the two channels! I decided to do a Teen Talk on this subject instead of a What’s the Teen Word. First up is Garrett!

Matt: So what’s up garret happy to be here?

Garrett: I’m so excited! Hey there TE viewers!

Matt: So the topic Disney Channel vs. Nickelodeon what do you think of this whole idea.

Garrett: I definitely think that there is an ongoing battle but it is pretty normal because of course they are going to try to be better than one another. Although I totally think there is some type of drama between the two.

Matt: So what do you think about Disney Channel? Do you think they are the ones trying to fight them?

Garrett: Definitely not! I actually think Nickelodeon started it. Nickelodeon can be immature sometimes and it shows on the channel. Once there was an episode of iCarly and it was called iTake On Dingo which was parody of Disney Channel. They were really being cold. They made fun of Walt Disney and Hannah Montana and a bunch of other stuff on Disney Channel. Plus Disney Channel is more appropriate then Nick. They have comedy that is funny but not inappropriate unlike Nick.

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure Update!

What’s up it’s Matt! I have some more updates on Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure! Sorry it was so late! This came out over a week ago and I never had time to post it!

Production has begun on Ashley Tisdale’s new movie “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.” The movie is being directed by Michael Lembeck and is scheduled to air on the Disney Channel in 2011.

The movie stars Ashley as Sharpay Evans, the popular diva we all know and love from the High School Musical movies and film.
Other stars in the movie include:
Austin Butler (“Life Unexpected,” “Ruby and the Rockits”) as Peyton Leverett
Bradley Steven Perry (“Good Luck Charlie”) as Roger Elliston the 3rd (Sharpay's enemie)
Cameron Goodman (“Phineas and Ferb”)
Alec Mapa (“Ugly Betty”) as Gill Samms
Jack Plotnick (“The Mentalist”) as Neal Roberts

The upcoming movie will feature four original songs by songwriters Randy Petersen and Kevin Quinn, Matthew Tishler and Amy Powers, and David Lawrence and Faye Greenberg.
Here’s a description of the movie by the Disney Channel:


“In the movie, a New York casting director spots aspiring thespian Sharpay Evans performing with her dog, Boi, at a charity gala and offers to arrange an audition for a new Broadway musical. Sharpay packs her bags with Boi in tow and heads to the Big Apple to fulfill her destiny on Broadway. Her father has given her one month to make it to center stage, or else she will have to return home and learn the family business. However Sharpay’s dreams are turned upside down when she discovers the Broadway role is really for Boi, not her. Pushing her disappointment aside, Sharpay sets out to make Boi the most fabulous canine to hit the Great White Way.”

Nice huh! Ashley is also serving as executive producer of the movie along with Barry Rosenbush and Bill Borden (who both worked on the High School Musical film series). I’m excited! I found a few set pictures and movie stills so check them out! They are really cool!

Allstar Weekend

Allstar Weekend recently released a press kit for their upcoming album "Suddenly" and I was really interested. So I grabbed my copy and it was full of awesome stuff! With it I made this really cool banner.

Hey teens and whoever else comes here! It’s Matt announcing that Summer at Teen Entertainment has finally arrived! I haven’t posted in almost a week but I was really busy with my last week of school plus I was getting a lot of things ready in my spare time for Summer at Teen Entertainment! Heres the plan!

Summer at Teen Entertainment kicks off with the release of Selena Gomez’s new music video for her new song, Round and Round premiering June 18th during a new 1 hour long event of The Suite Life On Deck, Break Up in Paris! Then the album release of Miley Cyrus album Can’t Be Tamed and Allstar Weekend! Next is the review of the premiere of 16 Wishes staring Debby Ryan! Wait theres more! Then we have the rest of the summer all to ourselves where we will be getting new updates on all your favorite music, movies, celebs and more! And be prepared for more Teen Entertainment segments! And this time we will be doing more Teen Talk where we will be talking to anonymous teens and asking them their opinions on the latest news! Emily Osment New Album Photoshoot

Emily Osment's new single "Let's Be Friends" comes out tomorrow! And to prepare, here is a fun video of her at the photoshoot for her new album (expected out this fall).

DC Dude here with some awesome fan cover art I made for Debby Ryan! From reading on her website, we know that she loves music. She has recorded a single called "Adios", was on Disneymania 7, sang the title song for "16 Wishes", and then wrote a song for the movie. She said that she is not planning on recording an album, but...eventually it will probably happen.

The next one is for the song she and her brother Chase wrote for "16 Wishes" called "Open Eyes"The last one is just a self-titled album cover artI hope you guys like them! I really like the font for her name, elegant with some edge but still nice. A good representation for what her CD could sound like. Fun pop/rock songs with an edge but meaningful and storytelling lyrics.

I tried out the posting from a text this morning...and if you saw the same thing I did...then that whole idea isn't going to work out.
What I wanted it to say was that I had an idea for two new Teen Entertainment MusicManias! One to be released really soon and the other next month!

Wizards of Waverly Place: Season Four and New Movie!

Disney just announced that there will be a fourth season of Wizards and is "developing" a sequel to the movie!
Will Wizards be able to pass the fourth season? Most recent Disney Channel shows don't go over more than four seasons. Raven and Hannah Montana didn't make it past four, will Wizards be the same?
The press release also stated that Gregg Sulkin would be coming back. We know this from the season finale being him coming back as well. Another repeat storyline like Juliet?
My theory: A movie to end it all. I think that this is the perfect way to end any T.V. show. It carries the chracters and storyline into a bigger vent.
Can't wait!!

"What's the Teen Word?" Demi Lovato and Her Musical Relationships

DC Dude here with a new "What's the Teen Word?". We haven't had one of these in a long time and recent activities have prompted me to make a new one.
We all know that the power couple of 'Jemi' broke up last week. Demi and Joe were going out for a couple of months. When that was first announced, I was kind of confused. There is a three year different between the two, but since Demi is almost 18, it wasn't that weird. As time went on, they seemed really cute together. Their relationship seemed very cordial and nice. They both seem like very genuine people and from getting to know them over the years, it seemed to make sense that they would be together. If you watch the Road to Camp Rock 2 videos on Disney Channel and the Disney 365 commercials, you can kind of tell that they were already together back then when those things were shot. You can see Demi is keeping it to herself where Joe is more public about it. In the Disney 365 video, they talk about how important "Make a Wave" is to them. Demi says how important it is to her and Joe, but then he cuts in and says "Us!" Right before they switch to different footage, their is a little but of an awkward moment. My opinion is that since Joe has been in the popular longer and is more recognizable, I'm thinking he thinks how it should be for famous couples. Always making appearances, being seen, being out and having pictures taken. I think that Demi is more grounded and more true to her friends and other people she knows.
But from our blogs that we at TE follow, sources have said that Demi is putting her life in her songs. A while ago, when Demi and Trace Cyrus had a 'thing', she said in her song "Every Time You Lie" (a personal fave of mine) she said "how long's it gonna take before you see she looks like me" instead of the true lyric "how long's it gonna take before you see she's no me". I have to admit, the girl for Trace after Demi did look A LOT like Demi...not a good thing. But now that Demi and Joe are done, there have been two instances with different lyrics. First was in "Don't Forget" with "did Joe forget" instead of "did you forget" and then in "Solo", with the real lyric being "why don't you just stick to acting" to "why don't you just stick to tambourine". To quote the first season of Wizards...ZINGER!! Two pings in one week...ouch.
My opinion: I think it's unfortunate that people with fame are limited to the ones that can and cannot date and be with. People are watching your every move and one little move could ruin you. I also think that Demi vents her emotions through acting and singing. From the lyrics above, she vocalizes how she feels to her fans. On the other hand, the Jo Bros song "Sorry" is a perfect match for this situation. They are always on the go and relationships don't always work out. This is a touchy situation, but if I was to choose a side...it would be for Demi.

TE On the Go

DC Dude here with a new feature for TE. On the Blogger dashboard there is a picture of a cell phone. I've never really looked into it, but today I did. So now, whether I'm at a friends house, school, Target, or the grocery store, I can keep everyone up to date by texting in a blog post. How cool is that? So, not sure if the CD prices at Target are still low on the new weekly releases? I can text it in! Quick movie or show review...text it! See a famous person or at a concert...send in the picture! I'm super excited to do this with everyone over summer and see what awesome stuff we can find. This is our summer!
P.S. When I get my bill and see that this is costing a ridiculous amount of money, it will sadly have to come to an end.

June 22nd = Hollywood Records Day

June 22nd is a HUGE day for some of Hollywood Records' biggest artists. Three releases are happening that day. The first:

Miley Cyrus' album "Can't Be Tamed"! I have to admit...I'm pretty excited for this CD. I have recently become a Miley fan and am really excited for her new release. Her single, which is the title track from her sophomore album, is SOOO good. It's very GaGa-ish. It's like they combined "Kicking and Screaming" and "Party in the USA" and got this really fun song. The lyrics also remind me a lot of "Acting Out" by Ashley Tisdale

The next release on the 22nd is:

N.B.T. contestants Allstar Weekend! I wasn't a big fan of them when they were on Radio Disney with "Journey to the End of My Life" and at first didn't like "Different Side of Me". But after listening to Radio Disney Jams 12 more and more, I actually like it. They have a current sound and I think have some potential as being a radio hit as well.

The last 22nd release is a single from my favorite band:

Selena Gomez and the Scene!!!! I am so freaking excited for their new single "Round and Round". On Selena's Facebook, she gave the details to her new single as follows: Planet Premier on Radio Disney on Friday 18, premier of the music video Sunday 20, and on iTunes Tuesday 22. And then that her new CD will come out on September 28!!! Almost a year to the day from the release of "Kiss & Tell". Again...SO EXCITED!

Ashley Tisdale Off to Toronto!

What's Up It's Matt! Ashley Tisdale is off to Toronto, Canada today to start filming Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure! Above is a picture of her at the Toronto airport. Here is what Ashley said on her Twitter this morning:

Ashley recently caught up with OK! Magazine and said:

"It’s not really Sharpay. She’s still Sharpay, but she’s now the lead of the movie. You used to love to hate her, but now you have to fall in love with her. You get to see why she is the way she is, you see her in a different light. She’s not in college, but she’s supposed to be. She’s in New York City fulfilling her dreams on Broadway."

I'm really excited for this movie! Are you?

Plot:

After her graduation in East High School, Sharpay Evans' big break comes after a talent scout spots her performing with her dog Boi at a charity gala. Sharpay and Boi head to New York, but theatre is a dog eat dog world, and nothing turns out as she expects, especially when she meets her match in a rather daunting Broadway starlet, who arrived in Midtown Manhattan as a recent winner of “So You Think You’re America’s Most Talented Performing Idol”.

The Great White Way is all Sharpay’s ever dreamed of, especially since she already has everything else. Life in the big city is a shock, but there is an even bigger bombshell when Sharpay finally realizes the Broadway role is really for Boi, not her. Putting her disappointment aside, she sets out to make Boi the most fabulous canine star to hit the stage, with the hope that his fame will become her fame. Before long, Sharpay makes a new friend in a student filmmaker, Callem, who finds her to be a fascinating subject.

Joe and Demi Break-Up!

Hey it’s Matt with some pretty bad news. Jemi is over! Joe Jonas broke up with Demi Lovato. Joe didn’t have the heart to do it in person so he had his dad call Demi and explain that things are over. We heard rumors about this before so we don’t know if it’s absolutely true but I’m pretty sure it is. Demi really liked Joe!

Just last week, Lovato gushed to Us Magazine that Jonas was "my first serious relationship...He knows me better than I know myself, and I know him better than he knows himself."

According to Us Magazine.com Joe Jonas thought it would be a bad idea for them to be dating and working together because it might ruin their friendship. Demi had a good cry then she pretty much got over it.

Here is what Demi said on her Twitter. It may reflect on the break-up.

After the week I’ve had, I can PROMISE you I will KILL this show tonight… Get ready for one intense concert.

How will the ex-couple be able to go on tour this summer together? Jemi was a really great couple. What do you think?

Ashley Tisdale is very excited for the movie. A few days ago she was doing a photo shoot for the movie. Just yesterday she was recording songs for the movie. Filming starts Tuesday, May 25.
