Zendaya in Arizona!

DC Dude here again! I was looking online for concerts to go to and found the concert series that is going on at the Arizona State. Scrolled down, saw the Karmin is going to be there (totally going to that one!) and then at the bottom, I saw Zendaya from "Shake it Up!"! I had no idea that she was going on tour or even did concerts! So I went on Amazon, found a single done by her, other than the ones from "Shake it Up!" and knew that I had to try and go to the concert. Then an idea came to me, maybe she'd do an interview for TE. Now, this is only an idea, not a reality. But if I could get an interview with her before or after the concert, that would be AMAZING! And huge for TE! The only catch is, the day of the concert is the same day as my Dad's birthday. But this could be huge if I could land this. Can you imagine? TE getting an interview with a Disney Channel star...that would be awesome! So TE hosts and readers, should I go for it? Leave your comments below and I'll re-blog about it soon.

Camp Rock Week

DC Dude here to wrap up Camp Rock week! I followed the same thing I did last week and listen to the soundtrack in the car and jammed out to prepare for the movie. It was Tuesday afternoon and I realized that I was going to watch Camp Rock later that week and I got really excited! I love this movie! I remember when it was coming out too. I was a Junior in High School and I was just getting into the JoBros and their music. I was a huge HSM fan by then and Camp Rock seemed like the next big thing for Disney Channel. I had a friend in my photography class and we'd talk about the movie every time and how we loved the JoBros and thought Demi was super talented. She thought the movie was going to be better and be more popular than HSM was, but I didn't agree =).
This movie came at such a high time for Disney Channel. HSM3 was coming soon, Cheetah Girls was just finishing up, Wizards of Waverly Place was climbing, Hannah and Suite Life were well settled, these were the good days! And Camp Rock was just another amazing addition to the Disney Channel family.
When I watched the movie on Thursday, I couldn't help but compare it to the second one. I noticed some people that were missing and some changes to characters from the first to the second. All that aside, this movie did an amazing job at displaying young, amazing talent that were all trying to make something of themselves in the world. I think that's the purpose of the movie too. To give people a chance to get out other and be who they want to be. Don't let the world tell you that you're not good enough, be the best you that you can be! Just ROCK IT!
I love this movie! There is so much power in the message that it sends.
I made a cover art for my favorite song in the movie too! It's the song that Peggy sings for the Final Jam, called "Here I Am". I know it's really simple, but I like it that way. And I didn't want to put the artist on the cover because the actress isn't actually the one that sings it in the movie.

Next week is HSM2! Stay tuned!!

David Archuleta "Begin" Review

Hey everybody! DC Dude here! I thought since David A is in our banner for the fall, I might as well review his new CD "Begin". We play it all time at my work and I've really grown to love the songs on this CD. Only one of them is original and all the others are covers. It's a really cool thing to do and put his voice to some of his favorite songs.
When I first heard that David was putting out a new CD I thought, "Wait a second...he's on a mission! How is that possible?" But he recorded it before he left, obviously. Which was a long time ago considering the CD came out a few weeks ago. Another interesting thing I found with this CD was that it wasn't with his usual recording company of 19/Jive. But I think to do this project, he may have needed to leave.
It is so hard to pick a favorite on this CD! They are all so good and they each are perfect for David A. I really like "Somewhere Only We Know". That song is quickly becoming one of my favorites ever since I heard it on Glee. One thing I love about the songs that David sings is that they are all so uplifting. And this album won't let you down on that one. They all encourage, inspire and lift everyone up. Especially "Be Still, My Soul", one of my favorite hymns of all time.
Should you got out and get this CD? DUH! Now, it is kind of hard to find. I haven't seen it at Target. I'm not totally sure about Wal-mart. I for sure saw it at Barnes & Noble and Deseret Book. Now, Deseret Book stores are hard to come by, so if all else fails, iTunes and Amazon are there too.
David Archuleta will always be a favorite of mine. And this CD puts him even more up on the list.

Demi, Selena & Bridget!

I got some amazing new fonts today and then I couldn't help but make some cover arts. I hope you like them!

End of High School Musical Week

This has been a really fun week! On Wednesday and Thursday I jammed out to the soundtrack of HSM and then on Thursday night I watched the movie. It was really fun to listen to all the songs on my car and be able to remember the words to all of them. I didn't think I would be able to do that. And I hadn't seen the movie in a really long time so it was neat to see it after a few years.
I think the interesting thing about the first movie is how they make Ryan and Sharpay the "bad" ones, when in the later ones, it's really only Sharpay. And some of the things that they do are down right mean, like when Ryan says to the people at the auditions, "The Drama Club doesn't just need members, it needs fans!" Rude! But you can't help but love them because they are just so awesome.
Another interesting thing with this one is that it's an even balance of songs that are random singing and performances. It makes it less of a show musical, but the random singing brings in the Broadway aspect.
I love this movie! Who would've thought that this movie would have gone as far as it has. It began something amazing, truly the start of something new. Without this movie, I'm sure we wouldn't have Camp Rock, StarStruck, Lemonade Mouth or Let it Shine. This movie has paved the way for so much on Disney Channel that I don't even think we realize. This is monumental. And yeah...it's cheesy. But what Disney Channel thing isn't? HSM is awesome!
I also made a cover art for my favorite song in the movie. Well...it's not actually in the movie, but it's in the stage show. It's "I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You".
And this week I'll be doing Camp Rock!

HSM Week!!

I started to celebrate HSM week by wearing my awesome HSM shirt to school today. I usually get one of two responses: an awkward stare or a cool compliment. I got both today :) You've gotta love how some people just can't dig the Wildcats. Look for my review latwr this week!

Camp Rock & HSM: It's On or Never!

Hello TE! DC Dude here! Hope your weekend has been good so far! I had a cool idea the other day and thought I would share it with you.
Ever since I found that video on Camp Rock 3, I've been thinking about Camp Rock and HSM. They are both amazing series and I love them a lot. I haven't seen the first Camp Rock in a while or any of the HSM's in a long time. So, why not watch them now? And, why not let you in on it? I've made a new little event that I'll do for a while called "It's On or Never", (which is a combo of It's On and Now or Never) and watch all the movies of both series. I'll focus one week on a movie, review it, give some history and stories behind them, then move on to the next week. I hope you enjoy it, I know I will watching all those movies again. Here it is, IT'S ON OR NEVER
I'll begin with the first High School Musical, then keep on going. Have a great rest of your weekend!!

Camp Rock 3: Live for Music

DC Dude here! Since I didn't have any class today and I have nothing much else to do, I thought I would do some digging for something to blog about. And did I ever find something!
So Camp Rock is amazing, just to put it out there. One of the most genius things Disney Channel has ever done, along with Wizards of Waverly Place and HSM. So why not do a Camp Rock 3? Well, I think they are.
I found this video on Youtube and it's not too bad. The story behind it is that a girl was in a Disney Store and saw it playing, recorded it, then a manager came out and got really mad at the employees because it wasn't supposed to be shown. Doesn't really show much of it. Check it out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFjiuY_L6Xc
If there is going to be a Camp Rock 3, why haven't we heard about the filming for it? When the second one came out, we knew about it long before it was to come. If it is real, Disney Channel is doing a really good job at keeping it under wraps.
If any of my fellow TE bloggers can find anything on Camp Rock 3, please post!

Summer Superhero Smashdown Ends!

Hey fans!

TommyTE here! Well this summer was great here at TE. This summer we had a short segment that focused on the battle between the summer blockbuster films revolving around the most popular superheroes.

Well now the Summer Superhero Smashdown has ended with The Avengers gathering the most at the box office, The Dark Knight Rises in second, and The Amazing Spiderman in third. I personally enjoyed The Amazing Spiderman more than The Avengers, but it's what the fans of entertainment and critics decided. If you haven't seen either of the three films yet, check them out on DVD or Blu ray. The Avengers will be releasing later this month to DVD/Blu ray, and The Amazing Spiderman and The Dark Knight Rises will be releasing later this year to DVD/Blu ray.
I hope you all enjoyed this summer segment! :)

-Thanks, TommyTE!
