Teen Entertainment Review: The Avengers

Hey moviegoers!

It's TommyTE here with a brand new Teen Entertainment Review.

As part of the Summer Superhero Smash-down, I am reviewing the excellent and highly anticipated summer blockbuster 'The Avengers'. Bare with me because I just came from the movies, and I want to get out my review while the film is still fresh in my head.

**VERY FEW SPOILERS**

Rating: 4.out of 5

Review: Well to begin, I just want to say it was an EXCELLENT and MUST-SEE film! It action-packed, hilarious, fun, and exciting! The film had a nice and simple story and the action was great! The comedy was fun and better than most comedy in action films these days. Overall, the film was exciting and probably the best Marvel film ever. The film has been give the title "The Best Superhero Film of All Time" but I still think that 2008's 'The Dark Knight' holds that title. Anyway, I give the films a five out of five for it's rating, because it is so far the best summer blockbuster of 2012, a great family & friends film, everything about it is great, and it perfectly satisfies the build up that has been going on since the first Iron Man was released in '08.
It gives every character, from Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to Loki (Tom Hiddleston), a great character moment and duel with a friend or foe.

Happy Memorial Day from Teen Entertainment

Hey everyone! It's Matt back! I've been so busy that I really haven't posted and I'm really sorry! Tommy is the only one who is really keeping this site up on it's feet so let's give him a round of applause! Thanks Tommy! But he's just been posting for his audience. I've just left my audience hanging. So now I'm giving you guys something to be excited about! Remember that movie  told you about last summer that was in production, :Let it Shine? Well it's coming out pretty soon and that's this summer! The film stars Tyler James Williams (Everybody Hates Chris), Coco Jones (Radio Disney's Next Big Thing, Season 3), and Trevor Jackson! The movie looks amazing and I'm so excited for it! Check out the trailer below!

And guys, that' not it! Let it Shine is full of music and so much more! Check out the plot below:

The inspiring story unfolds in Atlanta, Georgia, as Cyrus DeBarge and his best friend Kris McDuffy reunite with their childhood friend, teenage singing sensation Roxanne "Roxie" Andrews, whose music label is sponsoring a songwriting contest at a teen club. Cyrus, who writes music under the name "Truth," crafts a heartfelt and contest-winning rhyme about Roxie but to his dismay, his work is mistakenly attributed to Kris. Lacking the confidence to step forward, Cyrus stands by while Kris not only takes credit for the lyrics but ultimately begins to win Roxanne's heart too. Now, it's up to the true poet to overcome self-doubt, seize the opportunity to reveal his authentic self and pursue his dreams. All the while, Cyrus must convince his preacher father that hip-hop music can have a positive message.

Sounds good, right? I love how diverse the film is. Not only that, but the music that we've heard so far is really good. Listen to one of the first songs release below, "Don't Run Away". This song is the song that Cyrus enters into the songwriting contest. Really listen to the message that Cyrus is telling to Roxie.

The Amazing Spider Man Six Minute Preview and Twizzlers TV Spot

Hey moviegoers!

I'm here once again wit more super news!

Finally The Amazing Spider Man six minute preview has been leaked online and it's probably the best preview/trailer we've gotten yet! We get to see a little bit of "talk" between Peter (Andrew Garfield) and Gwen (Emma Stone). Some of the footage is new, but for the most part its footage we've already seen aside from the talk between Peter and Gwen. This is something that wasn't there in the Sam Raimi trilogy. It was more Peter likes MJ, Mary Jane has a dramatic life blah blah blah. Here we see strong chemistry between Peter and Gwen. That  shouldn't be surprising because Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are actually dating in real life. Anyway, check it out below, before it gets taken down!

There is only a month before this films release! It's gonna be huge, and a huge part of TE's Summer Superhero Smash-down. Check out the page for the Summer Superhero Smash-down above!

Hey web-heads!

The Amazing Spider Man film has gone off the grid in marketing! It's been releasing new videos and stills almost every week! If you go catch the new Men In Black film in IMAX 3D, you'll be able to catch a new six-minute preview as well, prior to the four-minute preview tat was released this past Monday during America's Got Talent! The Cape Crusader has also been fighting back as three new banners and the first two TV spots to The Dark Knight Rises has just been released. The Summer Superhero Smash-down is getting personal!

On a side note, I will be sure to bring you all my review to The Avengers as soon as possible; I still haven't seen it yet, it looks awesome though. The Avenger is also dominating the box office taking the place as the highest grossing Disney of all time! The Dark Knight and our friendly neighborhood hero have some tough competition.

Finally, in movie news, a new featurette to The Amazing Spider Man has been released, as well as two new stills. As far as the stills go, we get a new look at Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. This looks like it'll be probably take place at the end of the movie, because of the expressions Garfield and Stone have on their faces. New The Amazing Spider Man Featurette and Trio Posters

Hey viewers!

As you can see on the banner above, the summer superhero smash-down has begun with The Avengers being released last Friday. The next two movies in the KO ring are The Amazing Spider Man and The Dark Knight Rises. The questions are, which do you think you'll have more fun watching or experiencing and which do you think will gross higher. The Avengers is already making mad money and smashing BO records. The Cape Crusader's 2008 film, The Dark Knight, smashed records during it's theatrical run, and is expected to do the same this year. Yet, not many television spots have been released and the film isn't the biggest topic around when it comes to summer blockbusters. All are talking about The Avengers and whether the Spider Man reboot will do better than the first trilogy. The Amazing Spider Man is beginning it's marketing early releasing two TV spots and this Monday a sneak peek at the 4 minute preview on America's Got Talent.

In movie news, a new featurette of The Amazing Spider Man Blog has been released, explaining more about Rhyan Ifan's character, Dr. Curt Connors aka The Lizard. Along with the featurette, a trio of new international posters have been released check 'em out after the jump!

The Amazing Spider Man New Trailer and New TV Spots

Hey moviegoers!

A new AWESOME trailer and two new amazing TV spots for The Amazing Spider Man have been released, showing all new footage! This movie looks amazing!
It looks as if The Avengers will have some tough competition this summer, besides The Dark Knight Rises. I even think that The Amazing Spider Man will beat The Dark Knight Rises in the box office. I mean they haven't started marketing The Dark Knight Rises trailers yet only in with The Avengers. The Amazing Spider Man looks like it will have much more action than The Dark Knight Rises anyway, which is what draws audiences attention to superhero films.
Well, I think The Amazing Spider Man will be the best film out of the three superhero films being released this summer, because the untold story makes my summer blockbuster taste buds starve and the action looks unbelievable, especially for Spider Man film. This franchise looks even better than the Sam Raimi's trilogy, in my opinion. What do you think? Before you judge, you HAVE TO check out these trailers below. They're AMAZING!

The Avengers Opens With $18.7 Million at Midnight

Hey moviegoers!

Today is the day the superhero summer KO begins! The Avengers opened today in the US and Canada and has gained $18.7 Million from it's midnight sales taking the spot as the eight best opening of all time.
It has already gained $300 million from it's foreign sales. It's had an advantage though because the film premiered in April 11 in foreign countries. It's foreign sales might even slow down because the films has already been out for almost a month internationally. The film is looking at grabbing $170 million by the end of the weekend, surpassing the record set by the amazing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2!
The Avengers has received all positive reviews and is classified as being the best superhero movie ever!
I'll try to check it out this weekend to give you viewers a review ASAP!

So be sure to check out The Avengers trailer below:

Be sure to check out Matt's post below! He has a lot of news he has caught up on so be sure to check out his post below!

Catch Up Time: Bits & Pieces

Now he's some more of Catch Up Time! Now let's chat about Disney's new pilot, Bits & Pieces! Sounds really good, to me!

DISNEY CHANNEL ORDERS FAMILY COMEDY PILOT “BITS & PIECES”

Disney Channel has ordered the comedy pilot “Bits & Pieces,” a unique re-imagining of the traditional multicamera family comedy. The series will showcase the bits and pieces of a family’s funniest moments using quick, dynamic storylines that unfold through a series of short comedic vignettes.

“Bits & Pieces” is executive-produced by Andy Fickman (“The Game Plan,” “Race to Witch Mountain”) and Betsy Sullenger (“You Again”) and written by John D. Beck & Ron Hart (“Shake It Up,” “According to Jim”). Production begins in June in consideration for a Disney Channel series to premiere in 2013.

In the story, the family tree gets a whole lot bigger when high school basketball coach Pete marries the school psychologist Jodie, much to the chagrin of their four kids. Willful teenager Alanna recounts all the family moments through comedic vignettes, while her awkward brother Sticky and their new step siblings Crystal and Brody help fill in the bits and pieces as they begin their journey together as a new family.
This is so awesome! I love it! I think it's one of the best Disney Channel pilots they've thought of in a long time! Casting is going on right now! I think this show can be a huge hit! What do you guys think? Comment!

Catch Up Time: He's a Dog With a Blog!

Hey everyone! It's Matt, finally here! I've been so busy and I've been attached to so many other things for so long that I totally, didn't forget, but never made time to post. Now I'm back and will be posting about a bunch of things that I'm sure you've already heard about but I'm posting it! It's Catch Up Time! I'll be doing "Catch Up Time!"s for a little while. It's just a little segment on TE where we like to catch up on things!

So first, let's catch up on the newest Disney Channel Original Series, Dog With a Blog! Yup! The show was picked up and it stars the awesome Lemonade Mouth drummer and our favorite new teenage girl, G Hannelius ("Leo Little's Big Show", "Good Luck Charlie", "Sonny With a Chance") and Blake Michael ("Lemonade Mouth")! When you first read about the show, it sounds pretty....hard to pull off, but as you keep reading, you'll know that Disney will do an amazing job on this! Check out the press release below!

SIT…STAY...SCROLL DOWN.

"DOG WITH A BLOG" - ITS TIME HAS COME!

Disney Channel, the leading TV network for kids and families, has ordered "Dog With A Blog," a live action comedy series from Emmy-winning producer Michael B. Kaplan. A family sitcom from the pet’s point-of-view, it centers on step-siblings whose parents buy them a dog to encourage them to get along. That happens - to some extent - as brother and sister discover a big secret about their family's latest addition… that the dog can talk AND blog. The series will introduce a talented cast, among them, Disney Channel's next big star: a four year-old, mixed breed named Kuma in the role of Stan, the talking dog with a blog. The announcement was made today by Adam Bonnett, Senior Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channel.

Production on the multi-camera series will begin this June in Hollywood for premiere in fall 2012 on Disney Channel U.S. and soon thereafter on Disney Channels around the world.

Starring are:  G. Hannelius ("Den Brother," "Good Luck Charlie"), Blake Michael ("Lemonade Mouth"), Francesca Capaldi ("A.N.T. Farm"), Beth Littleford ("I'm in the Band," "Crazy, Stupid Love," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart"), Regan Burns ("Wizards of Waverly Place") and Stephen Full ("I'm in the Band") as the voice of Stan the dog. Kuma is a Husky/Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix who was rescued from a shelter. He is trained by Guin Dill and Steve Solomon of Good Dog Animals, an animal company with over 40 years combined experience in the motion picture and TV industry.

Bonnett said, "With our track record of discovering young talent who are 'triple threats,' we launched a nationwide search and our reward is that we found the one dog who could talk, blog and do his own stunts. Working with kids and animals has never been more fun!"

In "Dog With A Blog," Tyler and Avery are new step-siblings. Tyler is popular, charismatic and seems to get by solely on his looks, and Avery is smart, socially responsible and despises guys like Tyler. However, the biggest adjustment for the newly blended family comes with their new dog Stan - who talks and blogs. He's smart, a bit of a trouble maker and loves his new family, who must keep his marvelous ability a secret. Stan's canine point of view, whether in the home, in the yard or on his blog, helps the kids navigate both their new sibling situation and ultimately, becomes the tie that binds the family of six (Tyler, Avery, little sister Chloe, Mom, Dad and Stan). Even though he talks and likes a lot of "human" things, Stan is still pure dog. He chases his tail, barks at mailmen, ardently approaches poodles and is not so wild about cats.

"Dog With A Blog" was created and executive-produced by Michael B. Kaplan who most recently created and executive-produced Disney XD's "I'm in the Band." His credits also include "Frasier" for which he received an Emmy Award, "Roseanne," "Girlfriends" for which he received a BET Comedy Award, and "Doogie Howser, M.D."  The pilot was directed by Neal Israel ("Kickin' It," "Zeke and Luther," "Even Stevens") and produced by Leo Clarke ("Pair of Kings").

Disney's policy and core principles help ensure the protection and proper care and treatment of animals that appear in Disney-branded series and movies.

So what do you guys think? Could it be a good show? Yes, no, maybe? I'll go with maybe! Comment and tell me what you think!

~Matt :)

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Trailer

Hey gamers!

Here is the new trailer to Call of Duty Black Ops 2. It looks it'll have nothing to do with the first Black Ops, and it's set in the future. In my opinion, the graphics are the same as MW3, the action looks to be the same (buildings falling, cars flipping, wind blowing) and if they think adding horses will want people to buy this game they need to check again. Check it out for yourself and tell me what you think below.

I guess it's safe to say Halo 4 is gonna be better.

Voice your opinion below!

The Dark Knight Rises Final Trailer Released!

Hey moviegoers!

The final trailer to the epic conclusion in the Christopher Nolan Batman film trilogy has been released. The final The Dark Knight Rises trailer is posted below for you to check out now!

Following the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman assumes responsibility for Dent's crimes to protect Dent's reputation and is subsequently hunted by the Gotham City Police Department. Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Batman returns to Gotham, where he encounters the mysterious Selina Kyle while stopping the villain Bane's plans to destroy the city.

Like many of us, I saw Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and loved them both! This last film looks very promising! The dark theme from the previous films looks like it is going to be carried over into this one as well, which is very exciting. As we see in the trailer, the villain Bane is bringing Gotham City to ashes, and looks as if he is going to "break the bat". Bane seems to be even more deadly than the Joker which makes a lot of people excited! The film is being released on July 20th this summer! So we have The Amazing Spider Man, The Avengers, and The Dark Knight Rises! All ready to turn the tide in this summer's blockbuster movies!

What do you think?
Stay tuned!

-Thanks, Tommy!
